Use Tax Defeated By City, County Voters

It failed with 59 percent of the no vote in the city, and a 59 percent no vote in the county.
The Use Tax allows both the city and county to tax major purchases made outside the state.
If passed, it would apply to items worth more than $2,000.
City and county officials say without it they would lose out on a lot of money.
Voters have defeated a use tax three times before in the past.
