Superstorm Sandy to Delay Election? Political Analyst Says Not Likely

NORMAL--With the election just one week away, many wonder if Superstorm
Sandy's destruction could prevent people from heading to the polls.
Wmbd-31 political analyst Lane Crothers says it's not likely the election will be impacted.
He says Pennsylvania and New Hampshire are the main swing states on the east coast.
Neither got pummeled like their neighbors New York and New Jersey-which tend to vote democratic anyway.
"Most of those states have back up contingency plans for voting, probably have some systems in place for allowing some delays in some voting so I'm skeptical that it's going to be a big deal."
Crothers doesn't expect Hurricane Sandy's aftermath to postpone the election either.
He says it's not often political events are put on hold, especially during a presidential year.
The storm has so far killed at least 48 people.
