PA Senate Candidate Profile: Brian Pitzer

On this Wednesday, we bring you the 3rd of 4 profiles with the candidates for Pennsylvania's 49th Senatorial seat.
We've heard from democratic candidates Terry Scutella and Sean Wiley and tonight, we focus on Brian Pitzer.
Brian Pitzer has lived in Erie County for 25 years, working for the majority of that time for Edinboro University where he served as the Director of Public Relations.
More recently, Pitzer became the executive director of "All Aboard Erie" and a realtor.
Pitzer says he's running for the state's 49th district Senate seat, because hes sees the problems as well as the opportunities that need to be addressed in Erie County beginning with the poverty rate.
"We have the need to put people back to work in good paying, family sustaining jobs. My starting point is to rebuild our infrastructure," said Pitzer.
That's why he's campaigning with the title of "Brian the Bridge Builder."
Pitzer sees a need to rebuild our infrastructure, which at the same time would help with the jobs situation.
"It just makes perfect sense to me that we begin to rebuild our economy by putting people to work and rebuilding our infrastructure."
In addition to jobs, Pitzer says if elected he would advocate for several economic development projects already underway, including the development of the former GAF property, the Kanzius cancer treatment device as well as the Erie Inland Port Project.
Pitzer says, "we live on the main street of America, I call it, between Chicago and New York and with the development of an inland port we can create a transportation hub that could potentially transform this region economically."
Pitzer says you should vote for him on Tuesday for a number of reasons.
"I think I've brought to the table the most understanding of the issues involved and have the better grasp of the solutions that are needed... My job has been to be an advocate and that's what I bring to the table, and I believe that I will be an advocate for Erie County and the people of erie when I go to Harrisburg."
Thursday night, we will wrap up our candidate profiles for the state Senate race with democratic candidate John Harkins.
Then, we move on to the republican candidates for the state's 3rd district House of Representatives.
