Democrat Sean Wiley of Erie, PA is running for the 49th District Senate seat, currently held by Republican Jane Earll.
Wiley is afraid the Governor's proposed spending plan, which reportedly cuts education spending, is going to have a negative impact on communities.
But what Wiley says he's most angry over is the fact Governor Tom Corbett came to Erie last week, and according to Wiley, demanded colleges and universities to bring their costs down.
"It astounds me that this administration is not looking to address these budget issues with identifying additional revenue streams. There are other revenue streams that we can address to fill the voids of this budget other than our higher education and educational programs across the state," said Wiley (D) PA Senate Candidate.
Wiley adds, "This administration is trying to balance the budget on the backs of our school students by cutting education funding instead of looking for creative ways to cover the costs of education. It shows a fundamental lack of understanding of the importance that our schools play in our society, in our community and in our families.
