Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County....Wilkes-Barre Police continue to look over a pick-up truck they seized Thursday night in Hanover Township. The truck is believed to be the vehicle that struck and killed 19 year old Rebecca McCallick as she walked near her apartment with her boyfriend on Hazle Street on July 24th. Detectives are tight-lipped about their investigation but do say they know who owns the Ford  F-350 Super Duty diesel. The owner works at a Wilkes-Barre bar. Eyewitness News also knows the owner's name but is not releasing at this point since he has not been charged with a crime and out attempts t contact him have been unsuccessful. Police released a video and a photo this week of a truck driving near the area of te hit and run and it resembled the truck confiscated Thursday night.People who live on West Liberty Street in Hanover Township where the truck was seized say they were surprised by the police activity. They say the owner is a nice guy who helps out everyone in the neighborhood. Patrick Dieso said, " I am really shocked by this..I can't believe it." A woman who did not want to appear on cameras said, "I lost a granddaughter in a car crash and it is really horrible. I hope they find the person who did this..for the sake of the parents of that poor child." Investigators are expected to file a search warrant to search the truck for evidence in the case..That should happen late Friday or early Saturday.
