Larry Greene hit a towering home run to right-center field and drove in four runs as the Cutters built an early lead and rode it to a 8-3 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters.
The win snapped a five game losing-streak and was Williamsport's first at Bowman Field since June 23rd.
Larry Greene's homer was a two-run shot that put the Crosscutters ahead 2-0 in the first inning. He would finish 3-for-4 with four RBI.
A misplay on the Vermont infield allowed Brian Pointer and Logan Moore to score in the second to give Williamsport a 4-0 lead.
Delvin Perez had a solid start, allowing just two runs in five innings of work.
After Vermont cut the deficit to 4-3 in the sixth, Pointer scored on a Roman Quinn groundout to give Williamsport a 5-3 lead.
The Crosscutters then put a stamp on the game in the eighth inning. A Larry Greene two-run double down the left field line and a Chris Serritella RBI-single to right capped the score at 8-3.
The Cutters try to win their first series since June 27th Monday at 7:05 against the Vermont Lake Monsters.
