Number 25 Jamie Zaleski is from Scranton, and teammate Martin Mocha number 9, attended Wyoming Seminary and lives in Mountaintop. They two local ice hockey players are have become fan favorites on the Williamsport Outlaws.
Jamie Zaleski of Scranton says "Hearing Scranton PA when the announced my name, the whole crowd went nuts there are a couple grand in the stands so it was pretty intense."
For Moucha, playing at Historic Bowman Field reminds him of playing outdoors while growing up in the Czech Republic.
"You know every time you put the gear on and you are outside and the fans are cheering you on, it was like growing up at home skating on the river or pond at home, it's the same thing getting good fresh air and the fans and everybody is loving it."
Both players love playing the game of ice hockey. Zaleski says getting paid to play is like living a dream. He hopes to extend his time on the ice.
"I was talking about going overseas with one of my buddies. It is tough to get over there. You just want to play as long as you can, see as much as you can while you are getting paid to play."
Martin Moucha has played since he was two years old. Now at the age of 29, he puts his career into perspective.
"I am doing this kind of as a hobby on the side. So if they let me play here, then I would be happy. But if something happens, maybe I will play a couple of games on the east coast and let it be."
The Williamsport Outlaws play their final home game on Monday January 21st.
