MOOSIC, PA - "Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Professional Baseball needs your help in renaming the team. We want people throughout NEPA and surrounding areas to help rename your hometown baseball team," said Art Matin CEO of Mandalay Baseball.

To submit your name for the team, go to swbyankees.com and enter your choice or submit it by mail by using the entry forms contained in ads that will run in the Scranton Times Tribune and the Citizens Voice beginning on Sunday, June 24th. Entry forms will also be available at SWB's Front Office location at 50 Glenmaura National Boulevard, Suite 101 in Moosic. The winning submission will receive two (2) Season Tickets to the 2013 Season, a package of Official Team Merchandise and the opportunity to throw the first pitch on Opening Night 2013.

Six finalists will be chosen by our panel and announced in early July. The community will then be able to vote for its favorite name until July 30th.

"While we continue intense preparation for SWB's 2013 season in a newly renovated stadium; today's 'Name the Team' contest is but another important milestone in our efforts," Matin added. "In addition to baseball, the reconstructed ballpark itself will be a home for NEPA and the surrounding areas where all residents can have a sense of community pride - and it all begins with them having a key role in renaming the team."
