Three Jurors Seated in Sandusky Case

BELLEFTONE, PA - The defense and the prosecution in the Jerry Sandusky case have agreed on three jurors.
Two women and one man have been selected as jurors in the Jerry Sandusky child sexual assault case.
One, a Walmart employee is a woman with two children who says she doesn't know much about the case. One is a 24-year-old student and son of a PSU employee.
The third is a woman whose husband is a doctor who worked with Mike McQueary's father, John McQueary, before he retired.
Amendola asked the judge to strike her, but he didn't. The juror had season tickets to Penn State football for many years. The McQuearys are witnesses in the case.
Five residents were excused for personal and medical issues.
The only black woman in the jury pool, a nurse, was dismissed today after she said "people make up stories all the time."
One-hundred potential jurors were sent home to return tomorrow. The remaining 60 will go through phase 2 of the selection process this afternoon after the first 40 complete phase 3; only 10 have lasted through phase 3, individual questioning.
Earlier Tuesday morning, about 240 potential jurors, all identified by numbers and not names, began the day in Courtroom one of the Centre County Courthouse. From the larger group, small jury pools of 40 have been taken into phase two of jury selection. During phase two, residents were asked whether they have any ties to Penn State, the Second Mile and Sandusky himself. In the first round of phase two, more than half of the potential jurors had connections to Penn State or the Second Mile. Three said they know Sandusky personally. During the first round of phase two, five people were excused for personal or medical reasons.
