WTAJ News Reporter Kevin Flanigan is Live at the Courthouse in Bellefonte.
"We are expecting week 2 of the Jerry Sandusky testimony to get underway around 9am this morning."
Outside the Courthouse we are joined by WTAJ Legal Analyst Bernie Cantorna. Kevin asks, "Prosecution is expected to rest its case early this morning, any significants of the fact that they didn't rest their case on Friday but still kept their case open?"
Bernie says, "I'm sure they wanted to go through their evidence and exhibits to make sure they had everything introduced before they rested."
"Now as the defense takes over for their portion of this case, What can we look forward to over the next couple of days?" asks Flanigan.
Bernie replies, "That's the big quesiton. How many witnesses are they going to call? How are they going to attack the prosecution's case? Will they go after the witnesses' credibility? Will they attack portions of the testimony? Try to disprove things that were testified? And will they call credibility witnesses and apparently a Mental Health expert of some type."
Kevin asks, "Those credibility witnesses, What role do they serve in this sort of trial?"
Cantorna responds, "Well they are people that know Jerry Sandusky in a role other than what has been testified here. People who know his work in the community and who can speak well of him."
Kevin ends with, "And the big issue still to be determined is whether or not Jerry Sandusky will be called to the stand."
Bernie Cantora says, "Yeah the big question is will Mr. Sandusky testify? Does he have to testify? Many people suspect that he will."
