He said he received the case in May of 2009. He said the AG took the case because the Centre County District Attorney at the time had a conflict of interest.
Sassano showed several photos of one of the accusers that Sandusky had at his home and in a storage area on the campus. He also showed the jury a couple of letters, he said, were written by Sandusky. One appeared to be written when the boy became uninterested in spending time with Sandusky. It was written in third person and part of it read, "Jer may not be worthy, but he needs a best friend! It doesn't look real good."
Sassano also talked about how he searched old TV Guides to try to nail down a date that Mike McQueary said he saw Sandusky assaulting a boy in the shower in the Lasch Building. McQueary said he was watching the movie 'Rudy' on television.
Sassano said he found lists in Sandusky's home with names and addresses of Second Mile children. Some of the accusers in this case had handwritten stars or marks beside their names.
The prosecutor put some of the photos of the accusers on the large projector screen today. Sandusky rarely looked at it. He did look at it when one of the letters was up. It appeared he had a slight smirk while it was being read.
One more accuser is expected to testify today.
