West Pittston, Luzerne County -- Robert Hogan said he was sorry for stealing items from the home of a flood victim. Hogan was working for a subcontractor and installing carpeting in the home on Linden Street when he admits he took several gold rings and a 1908 gold coin.

Hogan pawned them off at a local jewelry store. Detectives were able to track the items to the store and approached Hogan, who confessed to the theft. District Judge Joe Carmondy set bail at $100,000 cash and told Hogan, "This is disgusting and outrageous considering what these flood victims are going through."

Hogan told Eyewitness News, "I am sorry for what I've done - that's all I have to say."

West Pittston Police Officer Michael Turned said, "It really is a sad story when you see people like Hogan taking advantage of the situation..being inside the house with free run to do whatever wants because the family trusted him as did the contractor to do the job he was hired to do."
