Massive Amount of Flood Relief Supplies Still Available
Bloomsburg, Columbia County--Filled to capacity. The Agape warehouses in Bloomsburg are stocked with flood aid as far as the eye can see.
Eileen Chapman, executive director for Agape, says, "We have almost anything a flood victim would need to try to get him back on his feet."
Agape has collected everything from food to furniture, clothes to cleaning supplies.
And not only do they have it, but they have lots of it.
Matt Korol, volunteer, says, "2,000 cases of water, 9,000 rolls of paper towels, 2,000 blankets, 86 cases of pineapple juice, 52 ft trailer of lasagna."
Those numbers can only be matched by the numbers of volunteers that have come through these doors.
Over 4,000 people have helped to collect all of these supplies for their neighbors in need.
Chapman adds, "I think they are overwhelmed. They've never seen this much. Theyve talked about how this has saved them."
Agape has helped entire communities be able to rebuild.
And they did it all on donations...of items, time, and energy.
It's a giving spirit this tight-knit Columbia County community is very proud of.
Korol says, "Growing up here, I wasn't surprised having known the area, but it's nice to see it. You take the good with the bad. I hear the people and the stories and live that with them and it hurts us. But you see the other half trying to do what they can and it makes you feel good."
