FEMA Relief Money Freed Up
West Pittston, Luzerne County-- Carolyn White, 68, of West Pittston says she is slowly getting her life back to normal but it is not an easy task. White's Lacoe Street home in West Pittston was devastated by the Susquehanna River three weeks ago.
White told Eyewitness News, "I go day by day and the grace of God is getting me through. I look at it this way, all of this bad stuff will make us stronger and in the end we will have a better, cleaner and safer place to live."
White lives in the home with her son, daughter-in-law and grandson. Congressman Tom Marino, (R) 10th District, was in Luzerne County at a crime meeting and commented on the Senate vote on disaster funding.
Marino said, "We should not have to have flood victims wait for help or fear that it will not be on the way. But I think it is amazing how all of this money is found, all of a sudden. Flood victims should see more FEMA money coming their way in the next 24 to 48 hours."
