Hazleton Airport Beltway Project Underway

Hazle Township, Luzerne County--   Theresa Williams who owns Creative Corners Framing shop on the Hazleton Airport Beltway say she is happy to see an expansion project underway on the highway. Williams said, "We have many customers especially the elderly who say they have a very hard time turning into our shop. I'm think this project will be very good for all the businesses along the beltway." The project will turn the beltway from a two lane highway into a three lane highway along with the installation of new traffic lights. Donna Palmero, The President of the Greater Hazleton Area Chamber of Commerce, told Eyewitness News, "There have been so many bad crashed here and some have been deadly.This has been a safety concerns for us and the businesses for a very long time." Mike Kapuschinsky from Hazleton said, "I think it's about time the traffic here is just getting worse by the day." The $10 million dollar project should be completed in 2014.
