Deadly Fire In Lackawanna County

Madison Township, Lackawanna County - A 55-year-old man from Madison Township was killed Saturday morning when his house caught fire in Lackawanna County.

According to the Lackawanna County coroner's office, George Jones, Jr. was killed when his home on Haas Pond Road caught fire just before 3:00 AM.

Investigators say his body was found in a downstairs room of the house.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by state police.

An autopsy will be done at a later date.

Eyewitness News will have more on the deadly fire investigation as it develops.
