Here we are in November and there is plenty to see and do in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.


Town of Bloomsburg is hosting the Annual Children's Museum Family Fun Run Meet at the Bloomsburg Town Library on Market Street and register between 9-10 a.m. Registration fee is $5
7AM to 11:30 AM Market Street from Pine Avenue to 7th Street will be temporarily closed for the Children's Museum Family Fun Run .

Tobyhanna's Army Community Services Branch, Employment Readiness Program, will host a Career Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Scranton Armed Forces Reserve Center. The facility is located at 3401 Olyphant Avenue, Scranton.

Sn Mountain Resort will be holding the annual winter job fair on Saturday, November 3rd. Sn Mountain is looking to fill over 500 positions. Most positions are part-time seasonal, with a few full time seasonal positions available. The job fair will be held from 10am-4pm in the Sn Mountain Resort lodge at Sn Mountain Resort, 1000 Montage Mountain Road, Scranton. The Carbondale PROmoting School - community - university Partnerships to Enhance Resilience (PROSPER) team is holding a holiday vendor fair on Saturday, November 3 at the Carbondale Area Elementary School, 103 Brooklyn St., Carbondale from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The event will provide customers with a one stop holiday shopping experience and raise funds for PROSPER drug and alcohol and bullying prevention programs.

Schuylkill County Fairgrounds will host a Truck Pull Saturday, November 3rd. This year's event will feature three classes of diesel trucks. Classes are Stock Diesel - 8500 lb., Modified Diesel - 8000 lb. and Outlaw Diesel 8200 lb. The gas hogs hit the track with four classes. The classes are Classic Gas 6500 lb., Stock Gas 6800 lb., Modified Gas 6800 lb., and Outlaw Gas 6500 lb. Weigh in starts at 9AM and Pulls begin at 11AM. Come early to reserve your seat so you do not miss any of the exciting action.

Sunday, November 4th
Ruth's Place is hosting their "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" Walk-A-Thon on November 4th, from 1-3pm. The walk will start in the Wilkes-Barre Public Square. The proceeds from last year's walk-a-thon provided the means for safe shelter for 276 women

An Election Day Spaghetti and Meatball Dinne
r will be held on Tuesday, November 6th at St. John Bosco Church Rt. 93 in Conyngham. The dinner will be served with salad bread dessert and coffee, tea, cold drinks.
Dinner will be served from 4 pm to 7 pm take out available. Proceeds benefit the Church Youth Group.

Do you want to participate in projects to improve your community, attend the PA Farm Show, gain free admission into the Northeast Fair while entering your projects, and who knows what else?

Then come join the 4-H Teen Club at our reorganization meeting on Thursday, November 8, 5:30 PM to 8 PM at the Penn State Extension Office, 200 Adams Avenue, lower level, Scranton.

Bucknell University's ongoing Jazz at Bucknell First Wednesdays series continues Nov. 7 with Bobby Avey's "Authority Melts from Me" at 8:30 p.m. in Bucknell Hall.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, includes Bobby Avey, piano and compositions; Ben Monder, electric guitar; Thomson Kneeland, bass; Jordan Perlson, drums; and Jeremy Viner, tenor saxophone.

(Flu Clinic)
The Wilkes-Barre City Health Department has rescheduled Monday's canceled flu clinic due to Hurricane Sandy. The flu clinic will be held on Thursday, November 15, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m at the Kirby Health Center, 71 North Franklin Street.

The state health department recently transferred an additional 100 doses of flu vaccine to the Wilkes-Barre City Health Department that can be used to immunize any resident of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Area.
