Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County-- Investigators handling the hit and run case of 19 Rebecca McCallick of Wilkes-Barre say the case is moving in the right direction. McCallick was killed by a pick-up truck on Hazle Street in the early morning hours of July 24. She was with her boyfriend at the time--the two were arguing so say Detectives. Her boyfriend told polcice he was in a second floor window and McCallick was standing on Hazle Street. He told investigators he was yelling at her to get off the street but she did not and was hit by a pick-up truck. Police have a person and vehicle of interest. A Blue-pick-up truck owned by 40 year old Daniel Loughnane of Hanover Township. His truck was searched for evidence as was a GPS and cell phone that was inside the truck. Loughane has had no coment and haas not been charged with any crime. District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis told Eyewitness News they are awaiting lab tests and date from the cell phone and GPS. Attorney Peter Paul Olszewski who represents Loughnane had no comment but did say there should not be a rush to judgement until all the facts are in. The McCallick family did not want to comment so as not to jeopardize the investigation but did say thety arte dealing with the loss of their daughter every minute of everyday.
