These Lock Haven University science students are examine dust that they and their professors collected in and near Lattimer- just outside Hazleton.
Residents are worried about what is in the dust that has been piling up on their homes and properties in recent months.
They suspect it is coming from a nearby quarry and coal mining operation. They fear being sickened by the dust. These dishes contain dust samples which are now being analyzed.
" Their is fungi collecting on the dust we have to determine what it is" said Dr, Loretta Dickson, Physics-Geology Lock Haven University
She is working with Dr. Joe Calabrese-Biological Sciences-Lock Haven University on the research.,
These scientists say it will take sometime to have a final report about what us in the dust and point out a likely source.
