East Stroudsburg, Monroe County - Monday the Red Cross hosted a special blood drive in honor of a young mother who died of cancer.
It took place at Halterman's Toyota in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County. The drive was in memory of 24-year-old Nicole Clatterbuck. She died in August just about two weeks after giving birth to her daughter Annalise.
Nicole had a rare form of cancer. It's called Ewings Sarcoma. Before her chemo treatments, Nicole was an avid blood donor.
Her mother Ginny Labadie attended the drive. She said,"I think it is amazing. I'm very moved and I know that Nicole would be. That's what she wanted. That's what she wanted to do. She wanted to help people."
The Red Cross says every person that donates blood can save up to three lives. Nicole's family is glad to know the event will help hundreds of people.
