University Park, Centre County -- Tens of thousands line the streets along Joe Paterno's funeral procession route in a touching tribute late Wednesday afternoon.

Most stood there waiting for hours as the funeral mass went much longer than expected.  Many Penn State students skipped class to be there.  When asked what Paterno would have said to the students, one told Eyewitness News, "He would have told us to get to class."

Paterno's Penn State blue hearse carried his body past Beaver Stadium one last time before rolling down College Avenue in downtown State College.  He was buried in a nearby cemetery.

A public memorial ceremony for Joe Paterno will be held Thursday at 2 P.M. at the Bryce Jordan Center.  Tickets for that even sold out in just minutes earlier this week.  You can watch the entire event on WYOU-TV or streaming online here at PAHomepage.com
