Dickson City, Lackawanna County- People at the Dickson City Civic Center are busy collecting clothes and food for victims of the storm.
The Civic Center aims to fill all of the bleachers in its gymnasium with bags of clothes, diapers, and food by Friday night.
It's also canceling its weekly "Friday Night Out" event so that all rec center members are available to sort through donated items.
Event organizers say the outpouring of support over social media shows that Sandy has affected everyone.
"We thought, why would we go empty handed, so we posted a little something on Facebook thinking we could fill up a truck or two and take it down and our community is so tight knit, we had a huge response." said Nicole Shotto of Dickson City

"My husband personally works for PPL so he is on his 96th hour of storm duty. My children live in Brooklyn so we are all touched by it, everyone who walks through this door." added Rebecca Flannery, Director of Dickson City Civic Center.

Dickson City Civic Center is also an election polling place so organizers are asking voters to bring one item with them for Tuesday's election to donate to the clothing drive.

Update: Red Line Towing is donating truck-people are being asked to help fill the truck.
