Plymouth Township, Luzerne County -- Shawn Mazzitelli is not happy with a recent purchase. The Plymouth Township man told Eyewitness News on Monday that an ear cleaning device be bought does not work. Mr. Mazzitelli ordered the WaxVac earlier this month through an automated phone answering system.
When
the ordered arrived over the weekend, he received four WaxVacs instead of just one that he requested. The
cost of nearly $90 exceeded the amount of money he expected to pay which was less than $20. The total also was more than the $30 he had in his bank debit card account which resulted in an overdraft fee.
Mr. Mazzitelli
reached out to Eyewitness News for help in getting a refund. Eyewitness News Reporter Mark Hiller contacted
WaxVac about the controversy. The company agreed to refund Mr. Mazzitelli the full
amount of the bill and let him keep the four WaxVacs at no cost.
