Williamsport, Lycoming County- "I am serving my mom a Thanksgiving dinner." Reggie Bole told Eyewitness News on Wednesday
Reggie Bole is a Llife Skills support student at Williamsport High School.
He and his classmates spent the past 4 weeks putting together a Thanksgiving meal for parents, administrators and teachers in the building.
"They love it because their parents get to see them do something very special and the parents get to enjoy it because they can see the job skills that the students are learning here at the high school." Said Bonnie Williams, Life Skills Teacher
By preparing the menu... Cooking the food... And serving their guests, the kids learn the job skills needed for their post-secondary goals in the work force.
This event isn't just a chance for the kids to cook up some food, it also gives the parents a chance to see what their kids have been learning for the past 4 weeks."
"He learns so much from this. He learns how to interact with other people and to serve food. It's really a good experience for him." Said Stephanie Bole, Reggie's Mother.
From communication skills to physical disabilities this group of students have varying needs and this event helps them show off what they are good at.
At the same time they get to eat a great home-cooked meal and give their guests something to be thankful for.
"My favorite part is getting time to spend time with my son and having him serve me." Said Stephanie
