Scranton, Lackawanna County-They may be small - but these Peewee football players pack a punch when they hit the field for  Sunday morning practice in West Scranton...

The regular season for the West Side Falcons is long over. They went undefeated in the northern area junior football league this year but they have some unfinished business.

"I've been here a long long time 33 years and i've never seen an organization like this." said Ken Martin, C Team Head Coach

At the end of their regular season the boys handed in their uniforms and the grounds crew even came and clean up the field and took down the goal posts thinking their season was over.  Then just a week and a half ago they found out they made the national championships!"

The West Side Falcons are holding a fundraiser to raise money for their trip to Virginia. It's happening on Monday, December 10th from six to 9 p-m at Villa Maria Restaurant. Penn State quarterback and Scranton native Matt Mcgloin will be there to sign autographs. You can buy tickets at the door.

"I was like oh my god!  We didn't ever know we were going to make it to the nationals." noted Mason Spano, Running Back Linebacker

Ten year old Mason Spano as well as his teammates and the A, and B squads will all head south to Virginia for the Peewee football National Championships in just two weeks..

"there is only one more team in pa and we're playing them first and if we beat them we're the e best in the state." noted Spano

The third and fourth graders practice 3 to 4 times a week -  their moms say its a huge committment but the boys are loving every second...

"If your heart isn't into it you're not going to be here but these boys love it and they work together wonderfully!" said Danielle Spano, Mason's Mom

For these kids - this is a once in a lifetime opportunity - to good to pass up..

"it's like going to Williamsport. For these kids it's like going to Williamsport for baseball, you know, and everybody is thrilled. The neighborhood is thrilled." added Ken Marin.

They have their game face ready - a community cheering them on - and a motto to win.

The boys first game in the National Championships will be on Friday December 14th.
