Dallas, Luzerne County- It's never too early to celebrate those who served our country.  Veterans Day may not be until next week, but the folks at Misericordia University got a head start on the holiday.

State Representative Dr. Karen Boback welcomed servicemen and women of all wars to join together Saturday on campus for the Veterans Appreciation Event and Expo.

A keynote speaker from the National Guard in Harrisburg kicked-off the program that also featured a musical tribute and light refreshments.

Vietnam Veteran, Edwin Dauch of Shickshinny says "the country didn't really accept us very well and I really appreciate that they are accepting us now.  As Veterans we try to do right for the country and our people."

Organizations were also on hand offering different services to the men and women, like health care options and career opportunities.  Veterans Day is November 11th.
