Exeter, Luzerne County-
Music, dancing, and a community coming together -- it's all to support a student who's battling a brain tumor.
An overnight dance-a-thon ended Sunday morning at Wyoming Area High School in Exeter.
Some 300 students took part in a 12-hour Warrior Rave for Wyoming Area 8th grader Eric Speicher.
The young teen is battling a malignant brain tumor that's required several surgeries and continued treatment.
The student president of the leadership group "Wyoming Area Key Club " says such an outpouring for Eric proves the commitment of the close-knit community.
"It really does show that we are the valley with a heart. I mean we've had students donate. We had over 40 local businesses donate to us. Members of the community who don't even own a business donated to us because they found out about it and it's just been amazing." said Leo Skoronski, President of the Wyoming Area Key Club
"It's very overwhelming. It's nice to see the school come and do this for our family and my son in particular." added Eric Speicher, Sr. Eric's Dad
Organizers are still totaling up the funds but believe they're close to the ten-thousand dollar goal to help Eric's family with medical expenses
