"Just picking up on the loading zones and making sure they are clean for tomorrow morning and the sidewalks making sure the ice is melted and laying salt down". said Christine Plocinski, Williamsport Parking Authority
Car dealers in Pennsylvania are not allowed to sell on a Sunday. But they are moving cars anyway... out of the way so plow drivers can clear the lot.
"It's a job you got to clean them all off, move
them back and forth, plow out the lot where you are at, and move them back
again. said John Mancini of Old Lycoming Township
Bigger jobs like clearing the parking lot of Williamsport Hospital call for heavy equipment. Employees of Wolyniec Construction punch in to break through the ice and snow. Parked cars sometimes get in the way.
"When we get these real big snowstorms, just kind
of get your cars out of the parking lots in a timely manner so we can get in
here and clean them up." said Cody Brewer of Jersey Shore
There is an outdoor ice hockey game at Bowman Field on Monday. Workers come in on a day off to grab shovels and brooms. They do their best to clear the snow, so more than a thousand fans will have a place to sit and enjoy the game.
"It's a lot of backbreaking work, a lot of sweating, but it is a lot of fun. We haven't had a lot of snow in recent years, so we have definitely made up for it." said Kevin Smith of Williamsport
We have been assured Bowman Field will be ready for public skating this week, and for the Williamsport Outlaws to play their game tomorrow night
