Scranton, Lackawanna County-  At a meeting Tuesday morning, commissioners approved a two-to-one vote a plan to put a referendum question on the may ballot.
It will ask voters if they want to eliminate the row offices of Clerk of Judicial Records, Register of Wills and Recorder of Deeds.
It would also make the county sheriff an appointed position.
A Lackawanna County businessman is looking to put a different question on the ballot.
That question would ask voters if they want to eliminate the current commissioner form of government and replace it with a county executive and county council.
