Hazleton, Luzerne County- The city of Hazleton is also looking to beef up its current citywide camera surveillance system.
The recent rash of violence in the city has put the project on the fast track.
There are 48 cameras citywide that were installed two years ago as part of a private-public partnership.
Business owners purchased the cameras and the city connects them to the police station.
The city is now exploring the use of federal money to buy additional cameras that would be operated by the police.
