Upcoming Garden Series at PEEC

Lehman Township, Dingmans Ferry - Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will present a garden series beginning February 24, 2013. Participants will learn low-cost, easy ways to start seeds, create a butterfly garden, and compost. The cost is $10 per session or $25 for all three sessions and pre-registration is requested.
Session 1, "Starting Seeds Inside", will be held Sunday, February 24 from 10:00am-12:00pm. This program will discuss garden maps and starting "cold crop" seeds indoors. "Butterfly Gardens" will be held Sunday, May 5 from 1:00-3:00pm and will teach participants how to provide the correct food, water, and shelter to increase the variety of butterflies visiting their gardens. The final session, "Composting," will be Saturday, July 27 from 1:00-3:00pm. Participants will learn about the advantages of composting and how to begin creating this environmentally-friendly fertilizer.
