Moosic, Lackawanna County- A three-hour long ordeal that rerouted traffic off busy Birney Avenue ended before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. An assistant district attorney said information initially led Scranton Police to the Moosic Motor Inn in search of bank robbery suspect. Investigators say the unidentified man barricaded himself inside a room and refused to come out. Police Chief Carl Graziano told Eyewitness News earlier Wednesday evening he believed this man was behind an armed robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank on Meadow Avenue. Assistant District Attorney Shane Scanlon said no law enforcement officers were injured in the standoff. He said this type of incident is what they train for. He added the suspect had self-inflicted injuries to his wrists. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
