"Probably around 10 (years old) I got my first painted mask"
A GOALIES MASK...
"We Went for a meaner Penguin look"
HAS BECOME A WAY...
"A little more retro"
TO BRING THEIR PERSONALITY...
"El Lobo on the chin"
TO THEIR GAME.
"I always get a verse on the bottom. It's a cool part that not a lot of players get the opportunity to do and as a goaltender it gives you a little bit of a chance to express yourself."
THIS IS WHERE CREATIVITY... MEETS INSPIRATION.
"We'll do like 3 to 4 sketches for these guys. I like to get creative with the guys, you know like, get exactly what they want."
FOR FRANNY DRUMMOND PAINTING MASKS IS A BUSINESS... AND A PASSION.
"To see my art on something like that is truly an honor."
IT STARTS WITH A THOUGHT... A SKETCH... A BLANK CANVAS... AND A STEADY HAND. IT ENDS ON THE ICE.
"It's actually an honor, it's almost like I am kind of living through them a little bit as I paint their masks."
DRUMMOND GREW UP WITH NHL DREAMS... DREAMS THAT NOW LIVE ON THROUGH HIS ART.
"Coolest part is you get to see this stuff on hockey cards."
HIS LOVE FOR ART IS MATCH ONLY BY A GOALIES LOVE OF THE GAME.
"You can sit down and just draw and you're like... wow is it 2 o'clock in the morning."
"To see it come out of the box and have your own design on it and stuff was pretty cool."
FOR THE ART OF THE GAME... KEN BROWN EYEWITNESS SPORTS.
