Recall: Triaminic and Theraflu Child Safety Caps Could Fail

By: Jayne Ann Bugda
Updated: February 1, 2013
More than two million bottles of cough and cold syrup have been recalled because the child safety caps could fail.
Pharmaceutical maker Novartis issued the voluntary recall of Triaminic and Theraflu.
The recalled medicines contain acetaminophen, meant to bring down fevers.
Doctors say young children can overdose easily on the ingredient.
Large amounts can cause liver damage.
The recalled products were manufactured before January of last year...
So the majority of products are likely off store shelves already and already used.
