Kingston, Luzerne County- People gathered today for a spaghetti dinner to support lung cancer awareness on Sunday.

The "Dine for a Cure" event in Kingston was held at VFW Post 2-83 on Wyoming Avenue.

For ten-dollars, people got to enjoy food, drinks and dessert.

Money raised goes towards the "Lung-Evity Foundation" -- a non-profit lung cancer organization.

The dinner hit home for event organizers.

"My husband died of lung cancer 3 and a half years ago and although there was no way I could save his life I'm hoping that with the money that we've raised for lung cancer research through the lungevity foundation that i might be able to help someone else." said Pauline Makowski.

"Dine for a Cure" was held in conjunction with the "Breathe Deep Northeastern Pennsylvania walk" which will be held June 1st.
