An important deadline approaches for anyone who receives regular federal benefits.
As of March first, social security checks and other monthly government benefits will no longer be mailed.
Instead the Treasury Department will distribute funds by way of direct deposit or on a prepaid debit card.
Those still receiving paper checks can either call the treasury or make the switch on-line.
The phone number is 1-800-333-1795.  You can also go to the GO Direct Website
