A non-profit organization from Minnesota came to Scranton today to try and help.
The group Strong Towns held a program at the Weston field house.
The group's goal is to help struggling cities find ways to become financially strong and resilient.
The group was invited to come to Scranton but no city leaders turned out for the presentation.
A handful of taxpayers did turn out to hear what the group had to say.
"Our conversation is way beyond what do we cut -- what taxes do we increase -- and actually goes to -- how do we make our places more financially productive? That's a message that everybody needs but particularly Scranton today" said Charles Marohn, the Executive Director of Strong Towns.
The non-profit group is spending the entire week in Pennsylvania,
