Pittston, Luzerne County-- Police are on alert after multiple reported abduction attempts Tuesday.
Pittston police tell Eyewitness News two separate luring attempts took place during the after-school hours Tuesday-- right in the vicinity of a school bus stop.
Investigators say both incidents happened near the intersection of Butler and Church Streets in Pittston-- involving young boys of roughly middle school age.
In each case, the would-be victim reported two men in a purple or maroon Jeep tried to lure them inside.
Police are asking parents to keep their eyes peeled for any suspicious activity.
They say they're taking the reports very seriously-- stepping up their own efforts with additional patrols and manpower on the streets.
Pittston Police Sergeant Neil Murphy noted, "We've had a lot of people in the public come forward giving us a lot of tips. We have a lot of other avenues which we're currently investigating to help us along with this. And hopefully we'll have a close to it soon."
Police believe the same two men committed both luring attempts-- due to the proximity, time frame, and descriptions provided by the children.
If you see any suspicious activity-- or have any more information on these attempted abductions-- you're asked to call Pittston police.
