The Kiwanis Club of Wilkes-Barre will be manning the Salvation Army Kettle in front of Boscov's from 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM this Thursday (December 13).
As part of the annual event, Kiwanian's Neil & Vonnie Young, who run the nonprofit Young's Funny Farm of Berwick, will be bringing their therapy donkeys dressed for the holidays to greet people.
The donkeys will be at Boscov's between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
The donkey were adopted from the Bureau of Land Management's Wild Horse & Burro Program and are the only donkey from the program to earn the title therapy donkey from the Delta Society. They retest every two years.
The donkeys and other therapy animals spend most of their time visiting hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other facilities throughout the region.
