Montrose, Susquehanna County-Commissioners in Susquehanna County are warning homeowners to be on alert tonight.
They say someone, or a group of people, may be trying to gain access to homes by saying they're with the county assessment department.
While only one incident has been reported, commissioners are trying to be proactive.
They warn people not to let anyone into their homes without proper photo identification.
Commissioners say all county employees have i.D's with their photo on it.
