High Drama And Emotion In Court as Expected Guilty Plea in Teen Death Disappears

Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County--    Angelina DeAbreu says she wants probation on not prison for her alleged role in the cover-up of evidence  in the shooting death of 14 year old Tyler Winstead in April. Her son Elijah admits he accidentally shot Winstead but lied to police about what happened. His mother was charged with tampering with evidence and hiding the gun used in the shoting.She was expecedt to plead guilty Friday monring but changer her mind just minutes before entering the plea. Carol Golden, Winstead's grandmother said,"I'm just tired, just tired, very tired of all this..The system failed us  I just can't understand this." Willie Golden, Winstead's grandfather added, "I just wish she had told the truth when this first happened and we would not be here now. I guess we now have to go to trial."  DeAbreu had nothing to say as she left the Luzerne County Courthouse. She has a pretrial hearing on December 19th--she faces nine years in prison if convicted... Her son remains in the custody of juvenile authorities.
