Berwick, Columbia County-- Investigators are checking out two suspicious fires on the same block in one Columbia County community.
Both fires happened within a week's span in Berwick. And both homes were vacant.
The latest fire happened Sunday night along the 300 block of Vine Street.
Video of the blaze was posted and shared on Facebook shortly afterward.
It happened around 8PM, just across the street from Ronald Green's home.
Green recalled, "We looked out the window and the flames were out to the road. The whole house was up in flames."
It was just this past Monday night that fire sparked up at another home-- two doors down from the most recent blaze.
While both fires are considered suspicious, police want to quell one rumor that's been running rampant on social media.
They say there is nothing in their preliminary investigation to suggest either home contained any sort of methamphetamine lab.
Green said, "I honestly think somebody's going around setting them. That's the only thing I can think. (If) they would have found evidence of a meth lab in there, we would've heard about it."
Now, neighbors here say they'll be on the lookout for suspicious activity-- as investigators continue to search for answers.
Green continued, "(I'm) worried about the safety of my family. My wife and I both called off work today. We're still without power to half our house. Just kind of wondering what's next."
Thankfully, we're told no one was hurt in either Vine Street fire. Anyone with information should call Berwick police.
