Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County- Area victims of the Super storm enjoyed hot food and a warm place to stay this afternoon thanks to a church in Monroe County.
Church of St. John on Milford Road in Middle Smithfield Township served soup, pasta and sandwiches to people in the Poconos who are still without power.

Church members say the spontaneous event was their way of offering the community a warm place to come together.
People we spoke to say that disasters like Sandy make you appreciate the smaller things in life.
"So something warm, where's there's light and there's heat it feels like a million bucks and it's worth its weight in gold." said Rev. Jeffrey Walsh, Pastor of Church of Saint John
"Compared to what's going on in Jersey, it's just the lost power. They lost everything some of those people so I'm very blessed. Great Friends, Church," said Carol Traino, Winona Lakes Middle Smithfield Township,
Father Walsh says his church will hold another event like this if power is still not restored and the need is still there.
