McAdoo, Schuylkill County--   McAdoo Police Chief Jeff Wainwright says he and his officers wanted to do something to help the borough save money in these cash-strapped times. He said, "We got together with Council and said we would walk the streets more to save on gas. It may not be much but every little bit helps out. " He added, "The other benefit is we can meet people one on one and be more a part of the community. Our cruisers are never far away but we will be more visble up close and personal." Nancy Menjivar from Bella Luna Restaurant on Kennedy Drive liked the idead and told Eyewitness News, "If it helps the community I'm all for it." Debbie Reiff from McAdoo said, "It's like the old days when cops walked the beat..I really like it."
