Delaware Water Gap, Monroe County - Splashes of yellow dot the mountain side in Delaware Water Gap. Spots of red and orange line the Delaware River. Kathryn McCool of Michigan smiled, "It's beautiful." Her husband Dean Smith added, "We've heard for many years about the wonders of the Poconos and we decided why not go there and see it?"
Eyewitness News asked them to check out the new "Leaf Peeper" app. It shows you where the leaves look the best. Users rate the leaves where they are visiting and post pictures. That helps other users plan their trips. McCool said, "I like leaf peeper. That's great."
Anne Yates of Florida added, "I think it's great for people like us who are just cruising for the week and going up and down."
McCool plans to combine "Leaf Peeper" with another app called Leaf Snap." She said, "So if you see a tree and you want to know what it is, you take a picture with your camera and you upload it to Leaf Snap and it tells you what kind of tree it is."
