Gas Prices on the Rise Again

By: Shannon Murphy
Updated: October 3, 2012

Gas prices are on the rise again.  In fact over night the average price jumped 14 cents a gallon.

The unexpected price hike is coming at a time when gasoline prices are at their highest autumn levels ever.  This time around it's due to record low inventories at several U.S. refineries.  Rick Ryman drives a lot for work.  He says back in 2008 it cost him 23 dollars to fill up, now the price climbs to 54 bucks.

According to gasbuddy.com the national average of a gallon of gas is 3.74 cents.  In PA the average sits at $3.90 and across our region from Wilkes-Barre to Stroudsburg, Scranton to Williamsport, the average price is inching closer and closer to 4 dollars yet again.
