Long Pond, Monroe County - It has been more than 20 years since Indy drivers navigated the tricky triangle at Pocono Raceway. But this summer they will once again rev their engines at Long Pond. The news revved up fans. Spike Rogan from Tobyhanna smiled,"Fans from all over North America have been excited. From Canada to Indianapolis, to Florida, California."

Rogan started a "Bring Back Indy" social networking push three years ago. He said,"Many years people laughed at me told me there was no chance this would ever happen." Rogan is happy he proved those people wrong and he was thrilled to attend the Indy announcement.

Rogan expects Indy fans to bring a lot of cash to the Poconos. He said,"Many of them do have much more expendable cash. I'm sure places like Mount Airy Lodge will be very excited to hear that."

Many business owners are excited. Raymond Dulisse owns Ray's Tuscan Villa in Blakeslee. He said,"I was very excited. It's like this is gonna really, it's going to be like a feather in the cap to the area. It's going to bring a lot of needed revenue."

Dulisse said races are very important to his bottom line so an extra one will be a big help. He noted,"That's kind of like our Black Friday is when the races come around that's when we really start showing a profit for the year."

Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau Director Carl Wilgus told Eyewitness News no matter who takes the checkered flag in July, the Pocono economy will be a winner. He said,"It's like frosting on a cake. It's not the whole cake but it makes it that much better."
