ABC will nationally televise Penn State’s Big Ten Conference opener at Michigan on Sept. 22. The national powers will kick at 3:30 p.m. ET from Ann Arbor, Mich.

ABC has televised 11 of the previous 12 meetings between Penn State and Michigan, with ESPN carrying the other contest.

In Ohio, the clash between the Nittany Lions and Wolverines will air on ESPN and the Northwestern-Ohio State game will air on ABC.

The contest with the Wolverines is No. 12 Penn State's sixth announced TV appearance of the season. This Saturday's home game with Buffalo will air on the Big Ten Network at 12:00 p.m. ET, as the Nittany Lions (2-0) make the second of at least three appearances on the new national network.

The Nittany Lions’ 31-10 victory over Notre Dame last Saturday was an ESPN primetime telecast. Penn State will meet Wisconsin at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 (ABC) and the Oct. 27 Ohio State game will air on ABC, ESPN or ESPN at 8:00 p.m. from Happy Valley. A decision on which network will air the game most likely will not be announced until 12 days before the border battle.

Starting their 15th season of Big Ten competition, the Nittany Lions have appeared on television in 153 of their last 155 games. Future Penn State contests may be selected by the networks under the six and 12-day provisions of their contracts with the Big Ten.

All Penn State football games can be heard on the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com, with selected games available on XM Satellite Radio.

Michigan defeated the Nittany Lions, 17-10, last season in Beaver Stadium. In Penn State’s last visit to Ann Arbor, in 2005, the Wolverines threw a touchdown pass on the final play of the game to win 27-25.

The Wolverines host Notre Dame on Saturday before the contest with the Nittany Lions.
