BETTIS TO RETURN TO PITTSBURGH?

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
THE DOOR HAS BEEN OPENED FOR JEROME BETTIS TO RETURN TO THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS FOR ANOTHER SEASON IF THE BUS DOESN`T RETIRE, THE STEELERS WOULD HAVE TO REDUCE HIS 4.4 MILLION DOLLAR SALARY BY NEXT WEDNESDAY, OR ELSE RELEASE HIM BECAUSE THEY`D BE OVER THE SALARY CAP. BUT, IF THE TWO SIDES CAN WORK OUT A NEW CONTRACT, THEN BETTIS IS LEADNING TOWARDS COMING BACK FOR ANOTHER SEASON. HE SAID IN JACKSONVILLE TWO WEEKS AGO THAT HE WANTED TO COME BACK AND WOULD TALK WITH COACH BILL COWHER ABOUT THAT MATTER. THE TWO HAVE NOT YET TALKED.
