Community Crusader In Trouble With The Law

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
(Friday, April 21) A local man who recently became a familiar face on local street corners crusading against drug dealers with his "Citizens Against Crime" campaign is now in trouble with the law. Investigators from Philadelphia picked up 38 year old John Dehart of Hanover Township at the Luzerne County Prison Friday afternoon to answer to theft charges. Mickey Desiderio of Mickey`s Hair Gallery says Dehart was part of the crime watch group she and her husband formed, but then he branched out on his own. Soon after, she got calls from a few people saying they had given Dehart money for the crime watch even though he was no longer a member. There`s also word that Dehart allegedly accepted money for a contracting job as a down payment, but never did the work.
